Sometimes it’s just not possible to bring our pets with us when we travel. You could leave them at home with caring, responsible friends, neighbors or relatives to look in on them and feed them, but they might not be able to keep a safe eye o n your pet around the clock. Leaving them outside and unprotected isn’t an option. And who would be there to handle an illness or other sudden emergency?
We already know your pet – and if you’re located in Acworth, Woodstock, Cartersville, Emerson, Bartow County, Cobb County and the surrounding areas, boarding them at Bartow Animal Hospital is a viable, affordable option to make sure your pet is looked after, fed, cared for, protected, and safe – and to make sure you have peace of mind while traveling. Our boarding staff has been selected, trained and is supported to deliver the care and attention necessary to make sure our guests are as comfortable as possible. Call or stop by Bartow Animal Hospital for more information and to schedule a tour of our facilities.
There are a few guidelines in place to protect all of the pets in boarding care. Make sure that before boarding your pet, their immunizations are up-to-date. If not, please make an appointment with your Bartow Animal Hospital veterinarian for any necessary vaccines. The standard immunizations we require for canines are rabies, canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza virus, canine parvovirus, leptospirosis, and bordetella (kennel cough). Cats must also be immunized against rabies, as well as feline rhinotracheitis virus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia virus. Other pets might need more specific vaccines as well – contact Bartow Animal Hospital for a complete list for other pets.
Your pet must also be free of fleas and ticks. Please remember your pet’s medications and any special dietary items. And of course, any special toys or comfort items like favorite blankets are welcome to help make your pet feel at home.
